Boulevardier

Boulevardier, the SW’s premium Jazz swing band, will bring to life the greatest tunes from the 1920s, 30s and 40s from the artists of the eras. Boulevardier feature: Mattie James, Craig Milverton, Cheryl Cole and Jim Rintoul.

Boulevardier are led by jazz swing vocalist and session musician Mattie James. He is an experienced singer, bassist and guitarist happy to explore a range of genres including, jazz, funk, soul, folk, rock. pop and world music. This evening he will be paying tribute to the best jazz male vocalists of the era including Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Chet Baker, Tony Bennet, Harry Connick Jr and Sammy Davis Jr. Boulevardier has spent the last three years performing around the SW at festivals, hotels, cafes, restaurants, village halls and more...

Craig Milverton is one of Britain’s finest Jazz Pianists recognised in 2010 by winning Best Jazz Pianist in the British Jazz Awards. Cheryl Cole is a dedicated multi-instrumentalist, proficient in Alto and Tenor Saxophone, Flute, and Piano. She regularly performs with several local jazz ensembles, a blues band, various function bands, and the Exeter Jazz Orchestra. For Cheryl, music is more than a vocation — it’s a powerful means of expression and escape, transporting both performer and listener to places that are unexpected, emotive, and deeply meaningful.

Jim Rintoul is a busy electric and double bass player; playing all kinds of music around the UK for the past 20 years and with long stints in Australia, New York and Tokyo. As well as a busy playing schedule he has a business specialising in teaching jazz, classical and electric bass to adult beginners.
